Case Study 1: Beating Extreme Heat & Brutal On-Site Conditions
For a major public mural project in Richmond, Texas with the nonprofit Street Art for Mankind, the task was an exterior wall at a brand-new park next to the Fort Bend Justice Center.
The concept centered on the freedom of education: a large central figure of a child reading a book, surrounded by floating, highly detailed narrative scenes (an astronaut, figures with horses, and kids by a pool).
The On-Site Problem: Triple-Digit Heat & Fire Ants
Painting miniature faces, delicate gradients, and clean linework on a ladder in direct sunlight during a Texas summer is grueling. With 100°F+ weather, swampy humidity, and aggressive fire ants swarming the site, freehanding micro-details on-site would have slowed progress to a crawl.
